The second peak of Liguria<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With its 2153 meters, Monte Front\u00e8 it is the second peak in Liguria after Monte Saccarello. It represents the watershed between the Tanaro valley, the Argentina valley and the Arroscia valley and overlooks the \u201cCiottu de e Giaie\u201d, or the “Conca dei torrenti”, where spring waters are born.
Once called Frontero, its symbol is a life-size white Madonna statue, clearly visible from Colle del Garezzo, located on site in 1955.
From its summit you can admire the nearby Marguareis Alps. When the landscape is covered by low clouds, the summit of Monte Ceppo and three other peaks, Toraggio, Pietravecchia and Grai, may emerge from the clouds. The last three form what is called \u201cthe sleeping Napoleon\u201d: their shapes look like the profile of a sleeping man.<\/p>\n\n\n

Monte Front<\/span><\/span>\u00e8 <\/span><\/span>is characterized by a mainly grassy slope with a calcareous substratum consisting of helmintoid flysch.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The observable wildlife includes wolves, chamois, ibex, marmots and green lizards, but also diurnal birds of prey such as the golden eagle, the griffins – of which there are twenty specimens – and the kestrel. There is also a strong presence of great tit, thrushes, cuckoo stalks, larks and prispoloni. A little lower than the top of the mountain the ocellated lizard can also be observed.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n
